Spencer Gower MRICS - Managing Director

Spencer set up SPG Property Limited in January 2017 and is focused on adding value and improving income by way of pro-active asset management across all commercial property sectors.

Spencer has over 20 years experience in the commercial property industry on both client and agency sides. He started out as a Service Charge Administrator and Client Account Manager in 1992 and during that time worked for St Quintin (now CBRE) and Healey & Baker (now Cushman & Wakefield) before moving to Warner Estate Holdings in 1999. 

At Warner Estate Holdings Spencer moved from the accounting side to managing property whilst studying Estate Management at Southbank University on a day release course. Spencer obtained his MRICS in 2006 after 6 years of study.

Spencer spent 6 years at Warner during which he gained vast asset and property management experience across all commercial property sectors working on their retail and wholly owned property portfolios.

In 2007 Spencer joined ING Real Estate to work on the Britannica Fund a specialist fund focused on secondary shopping centres, consisting of 8 shopping centres across the UK. Spencer was responsible for the asset management for 4 of the schemes based in the North West of England and Scotland. Spencer briefly worked for CBRE Global Investors after they purchased ING Real Estate before moving onto F&C REIT Asset Management in 2013.

During his time at F&C Spencer was responsible for 4 shopping centres in Aberdeen, Inverness, Runcorn and Barnsley (total of 1.4m sqft) creating and delivering on asset management initiatives which included leisure scheme developments.

After 20 years of working in London and 7 years commuting from his home in Corsham, Wiltshire Spencer relocated jobs in late 2014 to the South West where he joined Eagle One Ltd as Head of Retail.

At Eagle One Spencer oversaw the extension of The Valley at Evesham, which involved construction of 15 new retail units with a restrictive planning consent. Spencer successfully let 13 of the 15 units to retailers such as Fat Face, Mountain Warehouse, Outdoor and Country and Pavers as well as obtaining a new planning consent to house Diggerland on part of the 120 acre site.

Prior to setting up SPG Property Spencer worked for Insite Poster Properties as Head of Property Management.

Spencer’s passion and dedication to his work throughout his career has helped clients add value to their assets by way of active asset management whilst improving income streams. Spencer has developed and built up good relationships across the property sector during his career which are vital in this industry.

Spencer lives in Corsham with his wife Alex and children William and Libby. Spencer is a lifelong Liverpool fan and regularly attends matches. He also enjoys fitness including cycling and going to the gym.
